Elsie Valencia started her nursing career as a bedside nurse in the adult ICU and in radiology. After several years dealing with very sick patients, she moved on to work in the OB ward assisting in the newborn nursery and with postpartum patients. With all of this hospital experience Elsie recognized the importance of preventive medicine, and she felt strongly that she could help patients avoid certain illnesses by being an informed educator.
Empowered to help her community, Elsie went back to school for her NP certification hoping to find a position where she could work directly in her community. She was overjoyed to learn about Melody Health. As a former Planned Parenthood patient, she deeply respected the compassionate, non-judgmental care provided, and wanted to be a part of the team helping to provide that same level of expert care and education to primary care patients.
On her free time, Elsie likes to spend time with her husband and young daughter playing in the park. She also enjoys going to the gym and watching movies.
